About the WhiteBilly liquid culture

The WhiteBilly liquid culture is a Heritage Series isolate of Psilocybe cubensis — a leucistic/albino selection from the Hillbilly Pumpkin parent, with all-white fruiting bodies from pin to maturity and the thick, dense "monstrous" stems that gave the strain its pumpkin-like silhouette. Cloud920 isolates and maintains this lineage under controlled lab conditions. Part of the Cloud920 cubensis liquid culture range .

Origin and history of the WhiteBilly strain

WhiteBilly is a modern cultivated variety derived from the Hillbilly landrace, which was wild-collected in Arkansas in the late 1990s by a Mycotopia forum user known as "Hillbilly." The Hillbilly Pumpkin parent was developed by Basidium Equilibrium as a distinct isolation of classic Hillbilly cubensis, selected for stout stems and vivid pumpkin-like caps.

Full Canopy Genetics then selectively bred elite albino specimens from the Hillbilly Pumpkin lineage to establish WhiteBilly. The full lineage runs: Hillbilly (wild Arkansas landrace) → Hillbilly Pumpkin (Basidium Equilibrium isolation) → WhiteBilly (Full Canopy Genetics albino selection). WhiteBilly retains the growth characteristics, alkaloid content and reliability of Hillbilly Pumpkin, but produces larger, more "monstrous" specimens in addition to the albino coloration.

What makes this WhiteBilly culture distinctive

Three traits set WhiteBilly apart from other Heritage cubensis isolates: pure white fruiting bodies from pin to mature specimen, thick and dense stems often exceeding cap diameter (resembling small white pumpkins), and virtually no sporulation — when spore prints do appear, spores are transparent/translucent rather than the typical dark purple-black. Caps are petite, compact and rounded (pumpkin-like); stems are short and fleshy. The strain thrives in high-CO₂, low-oxygen sealed environments and has a reported morphological failure rate below 2%. For a Heritage strain with comparable fast colonization but a distinctly different visual signature, see the Hillbilly Pumpkin liquid culture .

WhiteBilly potency profile

No WhiteBilly-specific laboratory potency data exists. Because WhiteBilly is a leucistic isolate of Hillbilly Pumpkin with reportedly preserved alkaloid content, potency estimates from the parent are the most reliable proxy: the parent Hillbilly Pumpkin averages 8 mg/g total tryptamines, with individual fruits reaching up to 17 mg/g. Subjective effects are described as friendly, gentle, joyful and lightly physical — suitable for cautious experimentation, microdosing, beginners or tranquil sessions, and possibly too subtle for experienced users. As with all cubensis variants, measured potency in any given grow depends significantly on substrate, harvest timing and drying method.

What you receive in your Cloud920 syringe

You receive one 10cc syringe of Cloud920 WhiteBilly mycelium, packaged with a separately sealed sterile needle. The syringe contains QC-verified mycelium suspended in Cloud920's nutrient broth, produced in a lab-controlled environment with viability, sterility and morphology checks on every batch.

How to inoculate with this liquid culture

Cloud920 recommends 2-3 cc per small grain bag, 3-4 cc per medium bag and 4-5 cc per large bag. Cloud920's sterile growth medium is a useful option if you want to expand the culture before inoculating a bag. WhiteBilly is a very fast coloniser and tolerates high-CO₂, low-oxygen sealed environments — no fresh-air exchange or bag-opening is required in all-in-one kits or grain bags. Visible mycelial growth typically appears within 1-2 weeks; full colonization to first harvest takes roughly 25-35 days total at 23-27 °C (optimal ~25 °C). Store the syringe cool, dark and upright, and use within the shelf life printed on the label.

Microscopy and research use only

This WhiteBilly liquid culture is sold for microscopy and mycological research. Cultivation of psilocybin-producing fungi is regulated or prohibited in many jurisdictions — verify your local legislation before use.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the WhiteBilly liquid culture take to colonize?
With Cloud920's nutrient broth, visible mycelial growth typically appears within 1-2 weeks. Full colonization to first harvest takes roughly 25-35 days total at 23-27 °C (optimal ~25 °C). WhiteBilly is genetically resilient to fluctuating environmental parameters, and its minimal sporulation reduces contamination risk during cultivation.

How is a liquid culture different from a spore syringe?
A spore syringe contains spores that must first germinate before mycelium can form. A liquid culture already contains live, expanding mycelium — shortening colonization by roughly two weeks and reducing contamination risk.

How should I store this Cloud920 syringe?
Refrigerate at 2-8 °C, upright, in the original sleeve. Keep away from direct light and freezing temperatures. Use within the shelf life printed on the label.

Is this Cloud920 WhiteBilly culture lab-verified?
Yes. Every Cloud920 batch is produced in a lab-controlled environment with QC verification on viability, sterility and morphology before the syringe is filled and sealed.
