Includes a free Heat Guard. Every Mushroom Heat Mat ships with a foldable Heat Guard – the spacer that sits between mat and grow kit to create safe airflow and prevent overheating. No extra purchase needed.
A Mushroom Heat Mat is the simplest way to keep your magic mushroom grow kit at the ideal fruiting temperature throughout the cold months. Powered by 230 V infrared heating, the mat warms the surface of your grow kit to around 24°C / 75°F – the sweet spot where Psilocybe cubensis mycelium colonises faster, pinning is more uniform, and aborts drop significantly.
Place the mat flat, set the included Heat Guard on top, and place your grow kit on the Heat Guard. The Heat Guard creates a 1.5–2.5 cm air gap so the kit warms evenly without scorching the substrate base.

How to use the Mushroom Heat Mat
- Place the heat mat on a flat, dry surface.
- Unfold the Heat Guard and place it on top of the mat.
- Place your grow kit on the Heat Guard.
- Plug in the mat – it heats up within minutes.
- Check humidity daily: heat speeds up water evaporation, so mist as needed.
Why temperature matters
At room temperature (18–21°C) cubensis grow kits work, but slowly. Below 18°C colonisation stalls and contamination risk rises. The heat mat brings the substrate to a steady 24°C – the same temperature recommended on the spore syringe and grow kit instructions, and the range where you'll see the fastest pinning and biggest harvests.

The mat keeps the temperature next to the grow kits above 24 degrees. Currently I'm squeezing two kits side by side above the mat, balanced on a few little strips of wood (about 15mm thick) to allow for air circulation. Without the mat I doubt I would get results this time of year (winter) . But apparently they feel quite happy...Rating

We completely agree but i would like to point out that for the best harvest you do not want your kit to get below 21 degrees. A heatmat makes sure you do not have to worry:)
