Parafilm M per meter

Amcor Parafilm® M is a premium, all-purpose laboratory film designed for sealing containers in research and culture environments. Sold here per running meter (10 cm wide x 100 cm long), it is the standard choice for any mycologist working with petri dishes, agar plates and culture jars.

The film is flexible, moldable and self-sealing: once stretched and wrapped around a lid, it adheres to itself and forms a snug, semi-transparent seal. That seal blocks airborne contaminants while still permitting the slow gas exchange that mycelium requires, and it keeps moisture inside the dish so spore-to-mycelium transfers do not dry out.

Parafilm M is made from a blend of polyethylene and wax. It is odorless, resistant to many acids and bases, and stretches up to 200% at room temperature, which makes it equally suitable for irregular jar rims and standard 90 mm petri dishes.

Storage

Store Parafilm in a cool, dry place between 7°C and 32°C (45°F to 90°F) with 35–55% relative humidity. Keep it off the floor in an airtight container and out of direct sunlight. Stored correctly, Parafilm has an indefinite shelf life.
