Jack Frost is the most potent Psilocybe cubensis in our catalogue — and one of the hardest strains to capture on a traditional spore print. These Cloud920 spore swabs give you direct access to verified Jack Frost genetics, collected under sterile conditions and ready for agar work or microscopy.
⚠️ Jack Frost is a true albino strain. Its spores are white to near-transparent, making spore prints virtually invisible. A swab is the most reliable format for preserving and transferring these genetics.
Origin & Genetics
Jack Frost was created around 2018–2019 by mycologist Dave Wombat of the TAT Syndicate. The strain is a deliberate cross between two legendary albinos: True Albino Teacher (TAT) and Albino Penis Envy (APE). From TAT it inherits fast, rhizomorphic colonisation and clean white aesthetics. From APE it gets density, thick stems, and serious potency. The result is a true albino hybrid with snow-white fruits, caps that curl upward like frost crystals, and a pronounced blue bruising response that hints at what's inside.
Because Jack Frost is a hybrid between two strains, spore production during fruiting is minimal — another reason why swabs are the preferred method for working with this genetic line.
Why Choose Jack Frost?
- Strength: ★★★★★★ (6/6) — the strongest cubensis in the Cloud920 catalogue
- True albino genetics from TAT × APE — rare and visually unforgettable
- Spore swab format is ideal for this strain — white spores are nearly impossible to capture on prints
- Pre-loaded and sterile — ready for direct agar inoculation or microscopy without preparation
- Hybrid vigour ensures strong, resilient mycelium once transferred to grain or substrate
⚠️ Jack Frost colonises and fruits slower than average cubensis strains. Allow 3 to 5 weeks for pinning — this is normal and not a sign of a problem.
What's Included
- 2x sterile cotton swabs pre-loaded with Jack Frost (Psilocybe cubensis) spores — individually sealed for contamination protection
- Collected under sterile conditions from verified Jack Frost genetics by Cloud920
How to Use a Spore Swab
- Prepare your workspace — work in a still-air box or in front of a flow hood for best results
- Open the swab packaging only when ready — keep the seal intact until the moment of use
- Streak onto agar — gently swipe the swab across the surface of a prepared agar plate in a zig-zag pattern
- Incubate and isolate — store the inoculated plate at 23–25°C and wait for mycelium growth, then transfer clean sectors to fresh plates
Storage
Store your Jack Frost spore swabs in a cool, dry place at 2–8°C. Properly stored swabs maintain viability for up to 12 months. Do not freeze. Keep sealed until ready to use.
