Synthetic Jar Lid Filter Discs 90mm | 12 pieces

The Synthetic Jar Lid Filter Disc is a 90 mm wide-mouth filter designed to fit between a standard wide-mouth canning jar lid and band. It provides reliable gas exchange for your cultures while filtering out airborne contaminants down to 0.3 micron. This makes it a standard piece of equipment for grain spawn jars, liquid culture jars and agar work where stable, contamination-free airflow is critical.

The disc is made from tightly woven polypropylene with hydrophobic and oleophobic properties, meaning liquids and oils do not soak through and clog the filter. It is fully autoclavable and resistant to pressure cooker temperatures, so it can be sterilised together with your jars and re-used many times. After use, simply wipe clean with a damp towel.

How to use

Punch one or two 6 mm holes in the metal lid disc of your wide-mouth canning jar. Place the synthetic filter disc on top of the lid, then secure with the screw band. The filter covers the holes and seals against the band, allowing controlled air exchange.
