It first appeared in the 1980s — reportedly found growing wild in Florida — and quickly spread through underground mycology circles. No breeder has ever claimed credit for its creation. Appearance

Golden Teacher mushrooms are instantly recognisable. The caps are a warm honey-gold to amber colour, starting convex before gradually flattening out with a gentle central bump as they mature. Some caps develop a subtle wavy edge at full size. The stems are thick, sturdy, and white — occasionally showing a light bluish bruise when handled. Under the cap, dark purple-brown gills produce a generous spore print. Overall, Golden Teacher has a classic, elegant look: medium to large fruit bodies that grow in uniform clusters, making harvest day genuinely satisfying.

Growth characteristics

Golden Teacher is one of the most forgiving strains to cultivate. The mycelium is aggressive — colonising fast and outpacing potential contaminants. It tolerates minor fluctuations in temperature and humidity without stalling, which makes it an ideal choice for first-time growers. Despite that resilience, Golden Teacher also rewards experienced cultivators with reliable, repeatable flushes. Expect medium-to-large mushrooms that fruit in even clusters rather than scattered singles.

I am really satisfied with the whole Magic Mushrooms Shop services. The very first grow kit that I used for microdosing (capsules) was Golden Teacher. Easy kit for begginer, nice and friendly golden cups... ;)

For me, it was a mission, to grow Psilocybe Cubensis and make my own microdose capsules (0.1g of dried mushroom powder) - to help me with my (alcohol) drinking problem(s). It worked very well, within few weeks of microdosing helped me to kill the desire to drink. I was abusing alcohol (and alcohol me) from the age of 15. Now a am nearly 42. Happy!

Delivery was fast. Kit is simple to use. Took almost a week and a half to see first heads. Got huge couple of shrooms on top of the substrate. But after picking them up, no shrooms grew on top again. Only grew on the sides. I'm not sure why ain't they growing on top anymore, maybe substrate not inculcated enough on top, not sure...
However, tripping wise, Golden Teacher is an epic trip! Enjoyed the journey and the insights.

The product is super simple to use - since you don't need to spray anything you're basically only doing cold shocks and harvesting.

The first pins showed on day 8 after the setup, first flush on day 14. I got 3 flushes out of it till now, 250g fresh in total.

Ordered a growbox that came in the mail, I've let it remain within the delivery packaging for 2 weeks. Upon opening the package it was covered with green mold and was contaminated.

I've contacted support to see if there's any action to be taken in such a case to maybe help the situation. Only got auto-replies, where the bot refered me to the growth procedure, and asked for my email for support to contact me. It's been well over a week and there's no response to my inquiry.

Sad, but it is what it is. Maybe I'll have better luck with different products.
