Panaeolus cyanescens was first described by science in 1871 from a specimen found in Sri Lanka. The species is believed to have originated in Southeast Asia, but it arrived on the Hawaiian islands during the 1800s — carried in the dung of cattle imported from the Philippines. In Hawaii's warm, humid grasslands, the mushroom thrived and became widely known among mycologists and psychonauts alike.
The Hawaiian strain earned the nickname "Blue Meanies" for its dramatic blue bruising — a visible sign of its high psilocybin and psilocin content. Unlike the thick, fleshy fruits of Psilocybe cubensis, Hawaiian Copelandia produces slender, elegant mushrooms with thin white-to-grey stems and small bell-shaped caps no larger than 3 cm. From Setup to Harvest in 10–24 Days
Growing Copelandia requires a little more care than cubensis, but the Cloud920 makes it straightforward. Here's what it takes:
- Prepare cleanly — wash hands and sanitise your workspace.
- Apply the casing layer evenly over the substrate and place the kit in the grow bag.
- Mist and ventilate — spray the topsoil lightly and exchange fresh air twice daily.
- Keep the temperature at 23–26 °C for optimal fruiting.
- Never spray the mushrooms directly — once pins appear, mist only the inside of the bag.
- Harvest when caps turn greyish-white, roughly 24–36 hours after spore release.
Pins typically appear 5–17 days after setup. Full maturity follows 5–7 days later. Under optimal conditions, your kit can yield up to 150 grams fresh across multiple flushes.

Although the yield was modest (I got only 3.5 grams dried in total) and they grow as they want in a very stubborn way, these Hawaiian Pan Cyans truly are a treasure.Rating
They are not so easy to grow. Ensure perfect conditions throughout every growth phase!
That said, the effort pays off immensely with their extreme potency.
I took only 0.6 grams of these with my partner, and it was more intense than 5 grams of Golden Teacher. The trip was deeply spiritual and profoundly visual, with warm colors radiating through all the dimensions surrounding us. Reality was restructuring itself in cubic forms, and our surroundings glowed in golden-orange hues, warm bluish-greenish rays of ligh, warm turquoise, adorned with diamond threads so real you can touch them and ( they react to your touch ).
This was hands-down the most astonishing and potent visual experience I've ever had with shrooms. Beware though: these are no joke. Adjust your dose accordingly! If you take too much, you might get stuck in an endless déjà vu loop and sit around in total confusion more than in awe of the beautifully colored world around you. Ordered 3 kits - all were great performer and are on the 7th flush though now producing still few pins. The first 3 were great. Total dry amount currently 35g so around 11-12 per kit meaning (dry rate around 14/15) 150-160 wet per kit. Work clean - surface and glove and arm disinfection every time! Watch temps and light. Wear a mask. Air the room - let it rest and then work and so on - basically follow the instructions and you'll be rewarded. Great stable kits by MMS! I just harvested the 6th flush and there's still some life left!
They are very potent. I tried 1.2 g and it was wild!! Awesome visuals.
But, i recommend everyone not to stick too close to the guide.
You are supposed to take it out of the bag twice a day for misting,
but to me this sounded far too risky (high contamination risk?).
I treated it like a normal cubensis box and just misted and vented the bag once a day, leaving the box inside. Works really well!
Initally, they grow really fast, too. The first 4 flushes were done in like 2 weeks! Afterwards, it's slower, but still lively.
Definitely worth it, i will buy again.

I carefully followed the instructions this time and had much better results. These mushrooms are very different than cubensis, hygiene is more important. Amazing!! That is the best way to describe these mushrooms.
I love the cubanis strains too nothing wrong with them, but the visuals are just stronger and better with these hawaiins. Of course this is my own experience and everyone is different.
This time i am growing them in winter,
Room temperature a constant 21C, i give them fresh air 6x a day amd they have a lot of light, about 8 hours a day.
Till now i collected about 85 grams, new mushrooms are still growing so i would guess at minimum i will have 100grams if not more.
They are realy potent and they loose more water when dried then for example the cubanis mckenna strain. Those were about 10 to 1 while here it seems more lik 14/15 to 1.

these are fussy, tiny, small and beautiful.
one can weight 0.5g fresh and is enough to feel micro-dosing.
some people are probably not eligible to eat shrooms, it is not working for them, people are very different, not all same brains, body, diet ,conditions and mind setup.
