Mexican — where the story of magic mushrooms began
Mexico is the birthplace of mushroom cultivation as we know it. Indigenous Mazatec communities in the highlands of Oaxaca have used psilocybin mushrooms in spiritual and healing ceremonies for centuries — long before Western science gave them a name. The Mexican cubensis strain carries that heritage. It was among the very first Psilocybe cubensis varieties to be collected from the wild and domesticated for home cultivation, and it remains one of the most trusted beginner strains to this day.
Appearance
Mexican mushrooms have a classic cubensis look: medium-sized fruit bodies with smooth, caramel to light golden-brown caps that start bell-shaped and gradually flatten as they mature. The stems are slender, pale white, and sometimes develop a light bluish tint when handled. Compared to larger-fruiting strains like Amazon or Golden Teacher, the Mexican tends to produce more numerous but slightly smaller mushrooms — often in tidy, uniform clusters that make for a clean harvest.
Growth characteristics
The Mexican strain is exceptionally easy to grow. The mycelium colonises fast, resists contamination well, and adapts to a wide range of temperatures — making it very forgiving of imperfect conditions. Flushes appear reliably and evenly, which is exactly why this strain has been a go-to for beginners and commercial growers alike for decades. If you want a predictable, low-maintenance grow, Mexican delivers.
What to expect from this kit
This FreshMushrooms® kit is fully colonised and ready to start straight out of the box — no soaking, no watering, no preparation. Place the kit in the grow bag, fold the bag as described in the instructions, and maintain a steady 23 °C. The first pins typically appear within 7 to 10 days, with a full first harvest following at around two weeks.
Most kits produce two flushes. The first delivers the largest yield, with a second flush following after a cold-water soak. Total yield ranges from roughly 100 to 300 g of fresh mushrooms, depending on conditions and care.
Growing tips
Mexican is one of the most forgiving strains in the cubensis family — it tolerates a wider temperature range than most. That said, keeping conditions close to 23 °C will still give you the best results. A heat mat with thermostat helps during cooler months. 1) easy to use 5/5
2) growing potential two harvests 1- about 100gr 2nd 60gr - and this is end - 3/5* becasue of expectations
Power:
1) hmm disapointed - I used to use Psilocybe semilanceata - in many informations 2x stronger than Psylocibe Cubenis - so i deicide to take 25grams and later 25grams (total 45gr - expected trip level 5) - and power was only like starter pack for nice fun in Psilocybe semilanceata - level 1 trip. :( Ill still be testing it but I waiting for day when Ill be able buy P. semilanceata grwoing kit or just spoers. :) (Posted on 12/7/2020) - Not bad at all Review by Teytum

die bedinung und lieferung top wie immer noch besser geht es nicht aber es brauchte knapp zwei wochen damit der erste pin sichtbar war aber nach ein paar pins wars das schon ich habe vieleicht 7g trocken bekommen ich finde das extrem schade und eine geldverschwendung ich hoffe sehr das ihr mehr erfolg habt als ich :) ich werde in der zukunft eine andere sorte als standart verwenden (Posted on 11/23/2018)Rating - very nice tripp Review by jack

It was full grown with myzelium and wasn't contaminated or so.
I choose this "strain" because i love the mexican stuff and i knew it was easy to cultivate.
Sooo it took exactly 7 days to see little mushrooms poppin'.
Then it took only 5 days to harvest them..
i myself made a HUGE MISSTAKE and placed it right in front of the sun (got only 20g dried), dont place in in direct sunlight if you want to have a big flush and a very nice harvest.
The whole kit just dropped 3 flushes because the sunlight destroyed it.
I did 20 spore prints on my own and now the myzelium of the spores is doing pretty well, its basically an endless cycle.
start out by buying one of the kits and then GO BIG!

First time ever tried a grow kit. This kit worked pretty good in not the best conditions and without a heatmat. Followed every recommended step about hygiene, soaking after flushes, humidity, etc. Temperature was sometimes in the low range around 19-20 C during night time, tried to keep it around 22 C at least during the day. Kit came with a small patch of probably green mould the size of a thumbnail on the top of the cake, which did not grow. Instead of all these, got 3 flushes out the kit, first flush pretty good 205g fresh in about 2 weeks after receiving the kit. Second flush was a lot smaller in another 8 days, about 35g fresh and after soaking again and waiting another 2 weeks nothing grew on top, so had to put the cake on its side as they started growing there, got another 50g fresh there. I give 5 stars as it was not too bad for the first time in not always perfect circumstances.
