B+ — the beginner's classic
B+ is one of the most widely cultivated Psilocybe cubensis strains in the world. It earned that reputation through sheer reliability: B+ colonises fast, resists contamination well, and tolerates minor fluctuations in temperature and humidity better than most strains. Whether you are growing your first kit or your tenth, B+ delivers consistent results with minimal effort.
Appearance and growth
B+ mushrooms grow tall — often reaching 15 cm or more — with thick, sturdy stems and broad caps that range from caramel to golden brown. The caps start convex and flatten as they mature. Compared to other cubensis strains, B+ tends to produce fewer but larger individual mushrooms, giving the kit an impressive look at harvest time.
What to expect from this kit
This FreshMushrooms® kit is fully colonised and ready to start straight out of the box — no soaking, no watering, no preparation. Place the kit in the grow bag, fold the bag as described in the instructions, and maintain a steady 23 °C. The first pins typically appear within 7 to 10 days, with a full first harvest following at around two weeks.
Most kits produce two flushes. The first delivers the largest yield, with a second flush following after a cold-water soak. Total yield ranges from roughly 150 to 300 g of fresh mushrooms, depending on conditions and care.
Growing tips
B+ is forgiving, but a few basics help you get the most out of your kit. Keep the temperature as close to 23 °C as possible — a heat mat with thermostat helps during cooler months. I have had 1 full flush and then a steady rate of growth.
Every 2 or 3 days I am picking more shrooms.
It has given me, and is still giving about 30g dry.

Shrooms pinned within 10 days, Followed by a harvest within 3 days. The yield including 2nd and 3rd flushes was not large, but the potency was high. I attribute the low yield to ordering product during the hotest part if summer which is far from optimal.The customer service of Frank and Lotte was a true pleasure and I learned alot from them. My first grow was done as normal, but all but 2 shrooms grew up from the sides. When harvested, there were some even grown from the bottom. The container was not exposed to excess light, it was even shielded with aluminum foil around the container. Second grow has not produced any starts yet, after 8 days. The instructions don't specify that you have to soak the mycelium in water before the first fruiting. Thus I didn't and nothing happened. I soaked the mycelium after 2 weeks because nothing was happening and then they start to grow.Rating

happy with the results, they grew fast between 6-9 days for each of the 4 yields, sizes varied between 5-15 cms. First ones yielded more, but still a good total amount.Rating
the potency on the smaller ones is mild, for me 3-5 did the trick, but then again it's not something you can control.

I ordered a Mondo-kit at first but it didnt work (probably my fault as a starter in the grow-kit thing). The guys have offered a replacement and I have chosen a Freshmushroom B+ kit. The kit is really easy to use! You don't have to do much really, just make sure you clean the place really well and keep a temperature around 20 c°. You'll get around 20g dry, at least that what I got.Rating
