WhiteBilly — Cloud920® Ready-to-Grow Bag
WhiteBilly is a leucistic mutation of the classic Hillbilly lineage — same rugged Arkansas genetics, same reliable flushes, but in a rare pale-white phenotype. Rated ★★★★☆☆ (4/6). Heritage genetics that turns heads.
Availability: In stock on Apr 23, 2026
WhiteBilly is a Hillbilly that went through the wash on hot and came out white. Same tough-as-nails Arkansas genetics, same forgiving temperament, same reliable flushes — but wrapped in a pale, almost colourless skin that makes it one of the most visually distinctive cubensis you can grow. It's a leucistic mutation of the classic Hillbilly lineage: the pigment is dialled down, the performance is not.
Part of the Cloud920® Genetic Series — Heritage Series
Origin & Genetics
The Hillbilly lineage traces back to wild Psilocybe cubensis foraged in Arkansas in the late 1990s by a Mycotopia forum user who went by the name "Hillbilly." It became a community staple for its contamination resistance, generous flushes, and reliability under imperfect conditions — a true heritage strain built to survive, not to be babied.
WhiteBilly is a leucistic mutation selected from that same lineage. Leucistic means the pigment production is reduced but not completely absent — unlike a true albino (which produces no pigment at all and drops clear spores), a leucistic mushroom retains some faint colour undertones and still drops dark spores. The genetic mutation is polygenic — multiple genes interacting to suppress melanin production — which means every WhiteBilly fruit body is slightly different. Some will be pure white, others will show a faint cream or pale gold blush, especially around the cap margin. That natural variation is part of the charm.
WhiteBilly, Hillbilly Pumpkin, or Classic Hillbilly?
Same Arkansas bloodline, three very different expressions:
| Hillbilly (classic) | Hillbilly Pumpkin | WhiteBilly ✦ | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type | Original wild isolate | Selected phenotype — pumpkin morphology | Leucistic mutation — reduced pigmentation |
| Appearance | Golden-brown caps, standard stems | Thick white stems, broad orange-brown pumpkin caps | Pale white to cream, faint gold undertones, dark spore print |
| Potency | ★★★☆☆☆ (3/6) | ★★★★☆☆ (4/6) | ★★★★☆☆ (4/6) |
| Best for | Microdosing, beginners | Microdosing, precise dosing | Visual appeal, collectors, growers who want something rare |
| Spore colour | Dark purple-brown | Dark purple-brown | Dark purple-brown — leucistic, not albino |
| Growth speed | Fast | Fast | Fast — same Hillbilly aggression |
| Contamination resistance | High | Very high | High — inherits full Hillbilly resilience |
Can't decide? Hillbilly Pumpkin is for you if you want the award-winning microdose profile and the most distinctive shape in the cubensis world. WhiteBilly is for you if you want the same Heritage genetics in a rare, pale phenotype that turns heads every time you open the bag.
Why Choose WhiteBilly?
- Strength: ★★★★☆☆ (4/6) — above average and well-balanced. Strong enough for a meaningful full-dose experience, controlled enough for comfortable microdosing. A versatile strain that doesn't demand expert-level dosing knowledge.
- Rare leucistic phenotype — most cubensis are golden-brown. WhiteBilly stands out immediately with its pale, nearly colourless fruit bodies. Each grow produces a canopy that looks completely different from anything else in your collection.
- Heritage genetics, zero drama — underneath the pale exterior is the same rugged Arkansas bloodline that made Hillbilly a community legend. Fast colonisation, high contamination resistance, generous flushes. The leucistic mutation changes the look, not the reliability.
- Collector's strain — leucistic mutations in cubensis are uncommon, and a stabilised leucistic Hillbilly is rarer still. If you grow for the beauty of it as much as the experience, WhiteBilly belongs in your rotation.
What's in the Box
- 1x Cloud920 Grow Bag — 2000cc pre-colonised substrate with active WhiteBilly mycelium. Integrated micron filters provide passive air exchange and contamination protection.
- 1x Large bag clip — to seal the bag securely between ventilation sessions.
- 1x Rubber band — place around the substrate block to prevent unwanted side growth.
How the Cloud920 Grow Bag Works
- Open once — fold the bag open in a clean space to allow fresh air in and trigger pinning.
- Place and wait — put the bag in indirect light at 23°C. No soaking, no misting required in the first phase.
- Air daily from week 2 — briefly open and refold the bag once a day to encourage pin development.
- Harvest and repeat — twist and pull mushrooms at the base before caps open fully. Rehydrate and repeat for additional flushes.
