- It wad my first experience with growing mushrooms and this kit made it quite simple. The mat was useful as the temperatures where below zero at the time I started with the kit. I used the heat mat 24/7, making sure there's breathing room on top and bottom (used fish grill basket). It took about two weeks for the pins to show up and then 4-5 days until harvest. Got about 150g fresh/15g dried from the first flush and now after the cold shock I'm on to the next, hopefully I can get a bit more.
