Spore syringe cubensis Albino Penis Envy Revert
Albino Penis Envy Revert (APER) is a spore-producing revert of the famously potent Albino Penis Envy (APE) lineage, isolated by cultivator Jake Oncid around 2020. Unlike the parent APE — which is known for poor spore production — the revert produces viable, fertile spores while keeping the vigour of the APE line. The fruits are pale to lightly pigmented, with caps that have partly returned to a more classic cubensis shape.
Available as a 10cc syringe with sterile needle and alcohol prep.

Albino Penis Envy Revert — usually shortened to APER — is a revert of the famously potent Albino Penis Envy (APE). In mycology, a revert is a strain that has been re-stabilised so that ancestral cubensis traits return: normal cap formation, pigmentation and — crucially for spore vendors — reliable spore production, which the parent APE is known to lack.
APER was isolated by cultivator Jake Oncid and began circulating in Shroomery and Inoculate The World threads around 2020. Genetically it sits in the Penis Envy lineage (Amazon cubensis isolate → PE → APE → revert), so it shares the family's reputation for above-average potency while remaining beginner-friendly to grow.
What you get
- 1x 10cc APER spore solution in a sterile 10ml syringe
- 1x sterile needle
- 2x alcohol prep wipes
Quick stats
- Species: Psilocybe cubensis
- Lineage: Amazon cubensis → PE → APE → revert
- Isolation: Jake Oncid, c. 2020
- Cap: pale to lightly pigmented, partly classic-cubensis shape
- Bruising: blue, typical of cubensis
- Spore print: dark purple-brown (good print producer, unlike parent APE)
- Colonisation: 2–3 weeks at 24–27 °C
- Difficulty: beginner to intermediate
Growing notes
APER grows similarly to a standard cubensis but rewards careful work. Use a sterile grain spawn (rye, oats or millet), inoculate with 1–2 cc per quart jar, and incubate at 24–27 °C. Expect first signs of growth in 5–10 days, full grain colonisation in 2–3 weeks. Transfer to a pasteurised bulk substrate (coir + vermiculite, CVG) and fruit at 22–24 °C, 90–95% relative humidity, with fresh air exchange and indirect light. Multiple flushes are typical.
How to use the spore syringe
Work as hygienically as possible: clean surfaces with alcohol, wear gloves and a face mask, and minimise air movement. Hold the syringe with the luer-lock cap pointing up, remove the cap and screw on the sterile needle. Shake vigorously for ten seconds before removing the protective cap from the needle. Inoculate sterilised grain or substrate through self-healing injection ports or under a still-air box. One 10cc syringe will comfortably inoculate roughly 3–4 litres of grain spawn.
Storage
Store the syringe upright in a fridge at 2–8 °C. Shelf life is at least 12 months from the date of dispatch when refrigerated. Do not freeze.
Microscopy
The spores are intended for microscopy and taxonomy research. Drop a small amount of the solution on a slide, cover with a cover-slip, and observe at 400×–1000× magnification. APE-lineage spores often show slight variation in size and shape compared to wild cubensis — an interesting study object.
