This is my 2nd Cloud920 McKennai kit from the Magic Mushrooms Shop and it did not disappoint!

1st flush - Fresh air exchange started 3 days after set up. Pins started to appear at day 8 at both the top and all sides of the cake. The mature fruits were harvested between days 14 and 25. Most of the pins grew at the sides of the cake and got squashed. The harvest was cracker dry at day 27 using the fan / silica drying method. The 1st flush cracker dry yield was 20.7g. I was pleased with this yield. I used a heat mat with the thermostat held constant at 21C that promoted a very light humidity.

2nd flush – After harvesting the 1st flush, I misted the top of the cake with x25 misting sprays to rehydrate it. I used the same approach as the 1st flush i.e. heat mat, fresh air exchange started 3 days after misting and very light humidity. Pins started to appear at day 5. At day 10 I noticed most of the pins were growing at the side of the cake and getting cramped (like the 1st flush), so I carefully removed the cake from the container base and replaced it on the container lid to allow more space for the side pins to grow. The mature fruits were harvested at day 12. The harvest was cracker dry at day 15. The 2nd flush cracker dry yield was 5.3g. I was pleased with this yield but did expect a little bit more.

3rd flush – I am 3 days into my 3rd flush, and it appears that pins are already starting to form. Before starting the 3rd flush, I soaked the cake for 8 hours. I am using the container lid instead of the container base to avoid limiting the growth of any side pins.

MMS: Great to hear that this method of removing the substrate from the plastic box worked well for you! While this can sometimes help side pins develop better, it is not recommended in every situation. Not quite 5 stars due to lower than expected yields

I followed the grow kit instructions provided by the Magic Mushroom Shop website. The cake yielded two flushes. It was retired after the 2nd flush as the cake became exhausted.

1st flush - Fresh air exchange started 3 days after set up. Pins started to appear at day 8. The mature fruits were harvested at day 15. The harvest was cracker dry at day 19 using the fan / silica drying method. The 1st flush cracker dry yield was 14.8g. I was expecting a higher yield when compared to yields from other grow kit providers. I used a heat mat placed between two towels triple folded with the thermostat placed between the folds of the top towel and to the side of the kit. The heat mat thermostat was held constant at 23C that promoted a light humidity. No additional misting was required. The kit was not enclosed i.e. was on a shelf and not placed in a cardboard box.

2nd flush – After harvesting the 1st flush, I misted the cake with x25 misting sprays to rehydrate it (as per instructions). I used the same approach to the 1st flush i.e. heat mat, no additional misting required, no kit enclosure and drying method. Fresh air exchange started 3 days after misting. Pins started to appear at day 5. The mature fruits were harvested between days 14 and 16. The harvest was cracker dry at day 18. The 2nd flush yield was 6.8g. Great product and amazing yields!

Amazing first flush + Very dense mushrooms

This kit is great. First pins appeared 5 days after receiving the kit. Harvest was 9 days later. I had a lot of side pins but it was quickly resolved by flipping the mycelium block on it's side in the tray inside the bag. First flush was 363g fresh which is great for a first flush. The mushrooms are super dense and heavy. As for the effect they're perfect for microdosing as that's the only test I've given them. (Have yet to try a larger dose) but the potency is good enough for me to feel a micro dose without being overwhelmed. I love it. Great experience so far, and I'm about to harvest my second flush.
