The Jack Frost 2000cc premium magic mushroom kit is a different way of growing than you might be used to.

It is grown directly in a grow bag without the need for a grow box which, in turn, is a lot stronger against contamination.

Since the bag will only be opened once before you can enjoy harvesting the first big flush. The Jack Frost is specifically bread to grow extremely potent and massive mushrooms. Welcome to the new era of home cultivation.

How to store the Jack Frost grow kit correctly

It is recommended that you start the cultivation process right away when you receive the grow box. If you decide to start growing later, which may affect the quality of the box, you should store the grow kit for a maximum of 2 weeks in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C). You can leave the growbag with mycelium in the box and place it in the fridge. Make sure your fridge is clean and free of mould. You can place it inside a clean plastic bag or a soaking bag as an extra precaution.

What do you need?

Clean environment—Work clean to prevent other fungi and bacteria (microorganisms) from contaminating your growkit.
Potable water – Always use clean tap or mineral water for misting and soaking. Never use distilled or demi water.

Room Preparation

Close all doors and windows and let the air settle in the room so no drafts can blow unwanted contaminants into your grow bag.
When taking the grow bag out of the box, place it only on freshly disinfected surfaces .
Make sure you work with clean hands and arms. We suggest using surgical gloves and/or a good disinfectant to clean your hands and arms when handling the kit. Use a facemask to avoid breathing into the grow bag and on the cake.

Starting The Process

Take out the bag from the box and unroll the bag.
Open the bag and let fresh air flow inside by pulling the sides away from each other; immediately close the bag with the clip again.
Place the rubber band around the bag at the same level as the top of the substrate to reduce side pinning.
Place the kit in a clean and comfortable environment for the mushrooms. The temperature is ideally 23 degrees, do not put them in the dark, and never in direct sunlight.
Now all you need is patience. Jack Frost takes about 2 to 4 weeks until it is ready for harvest. No airing is needed.

Conditions

Temperature

The ideal temperature is 23°C. Make sure the temperature stays above 21°C and does not surpass 27°C. To prevent temperatures from dropping below 21°C, you can use a thermal heatingmat. Especially in colder regions or during winter, a thermal mat becomes essential for maintaining the ideal temperature. Always insert "spacers" such as pencils between the bag and the heat mat so that the temperature can dissipate and is not concentrated straight on the substrate.

Light

Jack Frost only needs indirect sunlight to understand that there is a day and night cycle. Light is important for a good yield but also make sure that there is never any direct sunlight shining on the growkit.

Water / Misting

The Jack Frost growkit has enough water inside the cake to last you at least 2 flushes. So no additional water or care is needed. Just set it up and wait.

Flushes

Jack Frost shrooms have a slower growth rate than other cubensis strains but grows incredible amounts. Some patience is required as the first mushrooms typically show up somewhere between 2 to 3 weeks. Once the pins emerge, the mushrooms are ready for harvest approximately one week later.

Harvest of your Jack Frost mushrooms

Jack Frost, like all cubensis mushrooms, is to be harvested as soon as the veils around the caps start to break. After the veil breaks Jack will still grow a lot in size but this will mainly be water weight. If you pick them when they are completely open they will be harder to remove and this may break the cake. Also if you harvest them later the mushrooms will be hollow inside after drying. Picking them at the optimal time preserves their potency.
The best way is to harvest mature mushrooms while allowing others to continue maturing. In practice, a lot of them will be ready roughly at the same time.
To harvest the mushrooms simply roll down the bag to the substrate so you can easily pick the mushrooms that are ready.
After you have harvested all of the mushrooms you can just close the bag again, place the kit back on the growspot, and wait for the next round of pins to come out.

Soaking the growkit

Jack Frost only needs to be soaked after the second flush, until then there is enough water inside of the kit for them to grow. One exception to this rule is when pieces of the substrate crumble off when you are harvesting your mushrooms. If that happens it is also time to soak the kit.

To soak the kit; take clean tap water or spring water fill up the bag until the substrate is submerged and leave it overnight, the next day you can drain the water out and let the kit grow again. After soaking there might be some discolorations on the substrate but if the kit still smells good it is good to go.

The end

When no more mushrooms have grown after 4 weeks that means that the cake is exhausted and it is the end of the kit. Also if you see a green discoloration in the kit it is contaminated and it should be thrown out. There can be other discolorations that are no problem so do send a picture to our customer service if you are unsure of the looks.

I had 3 of these, first gave me in total around 400 grams fresh, with multiple 100+ grams shrooms!
The other 2 where less succesful, still a decent harvest but both got contaminated after the first flush, so had to throw them away.

Also, i think they do need some more fresh air , venting them seemed to improve grow speed and jield.

Potency is above average, compared to mckennaii I say around 1,5 times as potent. (Posted on 7/25/2024)

Hello, the whale came very quickly. And growing these mushrooms is very easy. You set up and wait. After a good three weeks, the first little mushrooms were visible. After a week, I picked up the first round. I got 300g of fried mushrooms. I put the whale back in place, and the next round begins. The next cycle starts very quickly, after two days already a new one. The effect of the mushrooms is very intense and they work very nicely, and they are really strong. This is my first experience growing mushrooms.

At the beginning I had delayed growth issues after the first tiny mushrooms appeared. Frank from support was super helpful, and more importantly he was spot on with the diagnosis: too much CO2, and I just needed to ventilate the kit. Once I did, after a few days the mushrooms started to grow properly. But unfortunately the few little mushrooms that were there were already starting to rot.

Maybe due to the initial issues, the first flush was very uneven in terms of maturing, and I had to harvest mushrooms every day for more than a week (which I didn't mind at all - quite the opposite: I enjoyed the process a lot). Despite the issues, I collected 240g of fresh mushrooms from the first flush alone.

After that, I soaked the kit (because the cake had shrunk quite a bit and it was a lot drier), then after that I got another flush in less than 2 weeks. This time most mushrooms matured at the same time, and I collected 140g of fresh mushrooms, including some massive ones of 35g+.

Now I soaked it again and I'm waiting for the 3rd flush. I'm ventilating the kit daily at this point.

Be careful - these mushrooms seem really powerful! I haven't done a proper trip yet, just micro dosing using 0.1g of these rotten ones from before the first flush. That's a dose so low that you're not supposed to feel anything, yet I could definitely feel my heart racing and my head lighter. I had to lower the micro dose at 0.05g for no noticeable effects.
For my first trip, I'll definitely start slow and go low with the initial dosage, even if I'm looking for a very strong effect.

Effortless growing. Everything went as written in the description. Mushrooms are huge and grow fast. I can feel the cake shrink and become lighter in just a few days. They are also potent. Hello everyone. I have tried many different grow kits from this website, and have been very satisfied with the products, however, Jack Frost is my new favorite. The other growkits were pretty easy to grow - activate and then once the first pins occur, just open the bag twice per day, air out and mist some water in the bag. Jack Frost brings the simplicity to the whole new level: all you have to do is open the bag once you receive it and close back again - you don't have to do anything more - just wait for the mushrooms to grow and harvest them. Just like the instructions said, the bag had enough moisture inside for 2 yields, so you will be able to harvest a couple of hundred grams without having to do a single spray. Regarding the potency, Jack Frost is as potent as other cubensis strains. Therefore, Jack Frost requires by far the least amount of effort per unit of psilocybin produced, compared to anything else I have seen. To sum up, if you wanted to grow your own mushrooms, but was not sure if you can committ to airing them and watering twice per day (if you travel a lot etc.), Jack Frost is what you have been waiting for! I am glad that growing your own medicine is becoming more and more accessible to everyone. That's my take on Jack Frost - hope this review was useful. All the best and take care! These shroomies are defenitly worth trying. defenitely the biggest and most potent on the page. My first yield was just one shroom but it filled out the whole inside and weight 101g :D. A week later the rest came and were a bit smaller but still hudge. I tryed it a couple of times raw and had a good time. quite strong body high (a bit like on xtc) compared to the other cubensis strains. 2nd flush is already sprouting... Will buy again.

The flushes are around 200 g (20 g dried) and it´s very easy growing. Much better than most other boxes. Only downside is the side pins, but they exist with other methods too, so not a big issue. Since I need to travel more for work these days, I asked the fabulous customer support team if there was any kit that would still grow okay without daily attention. They recommended Jack Frost, which was even simpler than I expected – I did the usual careful sanitary set-up on the day it arrived, in a space in my flat where it would get the right kind of light, then – following the instructions – I didn't even touch the kit again until the first flush was ready to harvest 2-3 weeks later. Huge flush, very pleased ... just one note of concern – I probably harvested a day late, and some of the mushrooms were already starting to degrade a little bit. I'm wondering if the Jack Frost growing method might yield mushrooms that need to be harvested promptly when the caps open, no procrastinating... Perhaps there is a more humid environment in the bag, and thus a smaller window of time for harvesting the mushrooms than with other kits. I'm not sure, but this is a small matter – I will definitely be continuing to buy this great kit in the future. (Posted on 4/12/2024)
