We all know the mushroom, but were do these little things come from? They grow out of the mycelium. The mycelium is the vegatative part of a fungus. And it looks like thread or a web. Through the mycelium the fungus gets it's nutrition.
If you have a mushroom grow kit you can see the mycelium through the sides of the box. The mycelium is spread out through the grow kit feeding on the rye substrate. It is even possible for the mycelium to grow over the top layer of vermiculite.

september 24, 2009Als je voor het eerst paddo's gaat kweken kom je allemaal nieuwe termen en woorden tegen. Mycelium is zo'n woord. Mycelium is een heel belangrijk onderdeel van Paddo's kweken , maar ook een essentieel onderdeel van ons ecosysteem.
