Voor de soft drugs wiet staat de weegschaal op 15 gram dat is 10 gram meer als in Nederland. Van hash mag je 5 gram op zak hebben. Van de bij ons verboden paddo’s mogen onze Tsjechische vrienden 40 stuks op zak hebben.

Ook het bezit van een halve gram heroïne, één gram coke en twee gram pervitine ( een soort Meth)  zal niet leiden tot detentie in een schimmelige oud communistische Tsjechische gevangenis (zo stel ik met dat dan voor) waar het vast niet lekker trippen is.

Volgens de Volkskrant zou strikte naleving van de huidige wetgeving niet werken: “in Tsjechië zijn hallucinerende middelen erg populair. Volgens het Europees Waarnemingscentrum voor drugs en drugsverslaving wordt nergens in Europa zo stevig geblowd als in Tsjechië. Liefst 44 procent van de Tsjechen tussen 15 en 24 jaar heeft ooit cannabis geprobeerd. Tsjechië staat daarmee op nummer één in de Europese Unie, voor Frankrijk en Denemarken.”

Zij melden ook dat er daardoor weinig tegenspraak is tegen de nieuwe wet. Alleen een aantal cactus kwekers maken zich zorgen over dat hun producten mescaline bevatten. Maar volgens de minister Kovarova is het niet nodig

Het zal met oud en nieuw erg gezellig worden in de Tsjechische steden.

What’s a good trip sitter?
As a sitter you should know what kind of drugs people are taking and what the effects will be. A person who has experience with different kinds of drugs would be ideal. Some basic first aid skills would be pleasant too. But the most important it must be a person that you trust en will take care of you.

Timothy Leary about trip sitting:

“The guide must never be bored, talkative, intellectualizing. He must remain calm during the long periods of swirling mindlessness.
He is the ground control in the airport tower. Always there to receive messages and queries from high-flying aircraft. Always ready to help navigate their course, to help them reach their destination. An airport-tower-operator who imposes his own personality, his own games upon the pilot is unheard of. The pilots have their own flight plan, their own goals, and ground control is there, ever waiting to be of service.
The pilot is reassured to know that an expert who has guided thousands of flights is down there, available for help. As a trip sitter be prepared to be bored, get you’re self something to read or do while other people are exploring the dimension of there minds. But do not bother the other people. It’s you’re job to act and only to act when others ask you to or if any pre- trip agreements are broken.

So if you want to help, not join in, clean up, care and do research and have experience with the drug that will be used.You are the trip- sitter for the next ride!

• A very busy environment
• When you are not in a good mood, depressed or have mental problems
• Negative influences or difficult situations during a trip can cause a bad trip.

What can you do while experiencing a bad trip?
Before the trip:

• Do not use psychoactive drugs if you don’t feel good.
• Do not use psychoactive drugs if you have a mental problem or a history of mental problems
• Take the drug in a environment that you know, feel save in and where you can relax
• Take the drugs with people that you trust
• Have some near you that knows the drugs and the risks involved. This person will be the sitter an stays sober and helps when things go wrong.

When someone has a bad trip

• Stay calm, most of the time it does take long
• Fresh air will do some good, but don’t go outside.
• If its possible take the person to an other room or a place where he/she can relax.
• Do not leave the person alone
• Talk to the person, speak words of comfort
• Eat some sweet stuff
• When things get very wrong and you don’t know what to do call some one who knows what to do
• when nothing helps an the person becomes a danger to you or him self,call the emergency number of you’re country.

When you have a badtrip:

• try to stay calm and think of nice things
• eat something

In het EO programma ‘Dit is de dag’ op radio 1,gaat de presentator Andries Knevel in gesprek met de psychiater Don Linszen van, drugsdeskundige van het AMC over de truffel of tripknol.

Volgens Linszen zijn ‘Paddo-vervangers net zo verslavend als paddo’s’ Hij doelt hier op de truffels/tripknol die momenteel in veel smartshops worden verkocht in plaats van paddo’s.Het prettige gevoel dat de truffels los maakt door de stoffen psilocybine en psilocyne is volgens Linszen verslavend.

Daarnaast merkt hij op dat de truffel bij de gebruiker een psychose kan veroorzaken als deze persoon hiervoor een aangeboren aanleg heeft. Zijn advies is, Als er psychoses in je familie voorkomen gebruik dan ook geen truffels. Vooral jongeren in de leeftijd van 14 t/m 23 zijn er extra gevoelig voor een psychose omdat de hersenen dan nog rijpen er is dan een extra gevoeligheid voor de werkzame stoffen in de truffel.

Het CAM rapport van 2008 stelt dat paddo’s niet schadelijk zijn. “Het gebruik van hallucinerende paddestoelen (paddo’s) levert een dusdanig laag risico op voor de individuele gezondheid en de samenleving dat het verbieden van paddo’s een te zwaar middel is in verhouding met de overlast en schade door het huidige gebruik. ”

Over mogelijke verslaving zegt het CAM rapport het volgende: “ Het CAM heeft volgens vastgestelde procedures een risicoschatting uitgevoerd voor paddo’s, paddestoelen die de werkzame stoffen psilocine en psilocybine bevatten. Hierbij werd het CAM bijgestaan door de Commissie Risicobeoordeling nieuwe drugs. Uit de risicoschatting blijkt het volgende: Er is geen sprake van lichamelijke of geestelijke afhankelijkheid. De acute toxiciteit blijft grotendeels beperkt tot mogelijke paniek- en angstaanvallen, die slechts incidenteel fatale gevolgen kunnen hebben. Bij chronische toxiciteit kan hoogstens het optreden van flashbacks genoemd worden. Per saldo is er derhalve geen risico voor de individuele gezondheid bij het gebruik van paddo’s. Voor slechts één van de criteria in deze risicocategorie, de acute toxiciteit, werd het risico als gering geschat. Hoewel er geen wetenschappelijke onderzoekgegevens zijn, lijkt het gebruik van paddo’s in combinatie met andere psychoactieve middelen, inclusief alcohol, wel een extra risico te vormen. ”

We kunnen dus wel stellen dat de heer Linszen gelijk heeft met zijn uitspraak ”Paddo-vervangers net zo verslavend als paddo’s” Bedankt meneer Linszen dat U dit even duidelijk heeft gemaakt. Tripknollen en paddo’s zijn niet verslavend volgens CAM.

You have purchased a magic mushrooms grow kit, how do I proceed?

After you have soaked your grow kit for twelve hours, you continue with the next video:

Now put your gro kit on a warm spot (between 20°C and 25°C),but not in direct sunlight.

Under these condition you will be harvesting your first fresh mushrooms after little more than two weeks.

After the harvest you should not throw out your grow kit, because you can do the steps shown in both video’s over and over until your kit is depleted. Sometimes even up to four harvest can be obtained.

It became clear today that the Dutch government is continuing the ban on magic mushrooms. Ths despite the wish of the left wing parties to lift it. (PvdA, D66, GroenLinks)

Today there was a debate in Dutch Parliament analyzing the effectiveness of the mushroom ban. Minister of Health, Ab Klink and Minister of Justice, Hirsch Ballin come to the conclusion that the ban is a success, when considering the very few magic mushroom related incidents this year.

Between December 2008 and March 2009, just eight times the Ambulance services were called upon to assist in these incidents. The same period a year before this was forty-nine times.

The left wing parties state that it is not the magic mushrooms where the problem lies, but it is the young tourists that get into trouble when combining the magic mushrooms with alcohol and/or other drugs. Because of this, the Dutch population, who almost never need medical attention after the (ab)use, are the victims of this new law.

However, for the people who still care to trip on pcilocybin there is good news. The government is not pursuing a ban on psychomimatic Psilocybe strained truffles or sclerotia. Also the grow kits for all magic mushrooms remain to be legally sold and possessed for small scale home use.

PvdA parliament member Lea Bouwmeester

According to the PvdA Member of Parliament (Labour Party) Lea Bouwmeester: “The ban on mushrooms doesn’t seem to be the solution to the problem of drug using tourists and it should be lifted again.”

She sees it as ineffective ‘symbol politics’ and the problem lies in the fact that tourists use two or more drugs at the same time. This drug-combining should be targeted and you should not randomly ban a drug.

Because of the ban, tourists will resort to other, more dangerous drugs.  Now there is no way of knowing on what, and how much of it they use.

The proposal of Bouwmeester is a three-day-cool-down period (buy know, pick up in three days). Tourists will have some time to think over what they are about to do. They can use the time to gain information on the use and effects of the mushrooms. Also she sees a obligatory responsibility for the smartshops, where mushrooms were available before, to educate their customers. The minimum age of the customer should be set to eighteen years.

Next Wednesday Dutch parliament will debate about this matter with ministers Klink and Balin.

The ban is the result of several mushroom related incidents that happened earlier that year. A French depressed girl jumped to her death.

In the parliament the majority of the leading parties (CDA, VVD, CU and PVV) insisted on a complete ban.

The minister of health, Ab Klink, initiated an investigation to map the risks and dangers of Magic Mushrooms. The investigation is done by the CAM. This is a group, part of the Dutch ministry of health, that assesses and monitors (new) drugs. The conclusion of their findings is:

“The use of hallucinogenic mushrooms has such little danger to the individual health and the society that outlawing it would be an instrument too heavy when considering the little damage and problems caused by its’ current use. “

Minister of health decides to ignore the report of the CAM (for the first time a minister does this in Dutch history) and he proceeds with the ban. Making it illegal to grow and sell magic mushrooms for commercial use.

Despite the ban, magic mushroom grow kits and magic truffles, also known as philosopher stones, triprocks and sclerotia remain legal.
