Hi,
I hear different stories about this, but how long can I keep mushrooms? Is it true that they lose they effect soon?
I got a lot of mushrooms out of your kit and I do not want to throw them away.
Should I dry them?

Hi Peter,
You cannot keep mushrooms forever. Especially not when they are fresh (wet).
When they are freshly picked, you can conserve them in the refrigerator (2° - 4° C) for about a month. Some people prefer to eat them fresh, because they think they easier to eat. This is a matter of taste of course. The active ingredient, psilocin also remains almost completely in the mushrooms. After this time the mushrooms will really start to decay (rot) and will turn black and goo-ish. When they are like this, do not eat them! You can get sick of food poisoning.
If you want to conserve the mushrooms for a longer time, I recommend to dry them. This will affect a bit of the potency, because the ingredient psilocin will be broken down.
I am currently looking into the best ways to dry them. I have put some in the oven now to see if they dry well in a temperature of just under 50° C.
Please don't do this yourself yet, because I do not know how it will come out.
I will keep you informed :)

Yeah this is pretty much what I heard.
I have put them in the fridge now. I hope the drying process in the oven works, because it sounds pretty simple.
Let me know as soon as possible please, because I do want to dry them.
