Psilocybe mexicana A is the mushroom species that Dr. Albert Hofmann made world famous in 1958 when he was the first to isolate two chemicals from this fungus. These chemicals are now known as psilocin and psilocybin. P. mexicana A is known to produce sclerotia in a high quantity in the optimal circumstances.
The mushrooms of the Psilocybe mexicanae have been used for thousands of years by the natives of central America and there is some evidence the these are the "Teonanácatl" that they have discribed in their traditions. Teonanácatl has been translated to "Flesh of the Gods", a name familiar to most psychonauts.
Psilocybe mexicana A are available in a 15 grams vacuum packed quantity. Because of this package, the truffles can be kept for a longer time.
A sclerotium is a living product. It might be possible that air (especially CO²) might be trapped in the package. This will make the sclerotia continue to grow and white "hairs" will appear on the outside of the truffles. This is the mycelium and shows the truffles are healthy. This is edible and doens't affect the trip.

Rate Your Trip! was really hyped to try these out. seperated it into 5 bundles of 6 grams and prepared myself. chewed one up, on an empty stomach and went to watch tron to wait for the effects.
2 hours later. finished tron, took a shower. getting really hungry, but nothing. it said in the booklet not to try more if it didnt work but, what the hell... do another 10 grams...
3 hours later. nothing still. do the remaining 15 grams and go to buy some beer and food instead. vow to do things properly next time and get a growbox.... (Posted on 1/8/12) -

De trip was zeer sociaal, op visueel gebied veel patronen zien maar niet hallucineren. Hij sloeg zeer laat in maar dat kwam waarschijnlijk omdat ik 3 uur vantevoren nog had gegeten, al met al zeker een goede beginnerstrip! (Posted on 4/11/11)
